Holiday Cookie Swap 2008 - Christmas In America

The 24th Annual Cookie Swap was a huge success! Prior to the invitations being mailed, there was a flurry of activity. Things like selecting this year's theme, designing the invitation and finding the perfect place to host such an auspicious occasion.

There was no doubt that this year's theme would have a political backdrop since the 2008 Presidential Campaign was the biggest event happening on this planet. So in celebration of this great time in the history of our nation and the world, the 2008 Holiday Cookie Swap was appropriately themed "Christmas in America" . With the political landscape as a backdrop of red, white and blue - this year, we will set the stage for high tea, and convene an evening of politicking and campaigning with the fun-filled activities, while sharing cookies and kindness.

Each attendee was assigned a state. The entertainment consisted of a 'Cookie Swap' Political Convention wherein members campaigned and solicited votes for the "Best Cookie" and "Best Package". Our activities mirrored those of the 2008 presidential election.

All facets of the Holiday Cookie Swap were fashioned after the Christmas in America theme: Recipe Books, Packaging, Cookies and attire.

This year's event (political convention) was held at Emma's Rose Tea Room, 911 Central Avenue. We were the only attendees at the convention giving us the caucus rooms that we needed. We were served high tea in the Victorian Room with Cranberry English Biscuits, Scones and Speciality Sandwiches with an assortment of Herbal, English and China Teas. The venue was PERFECT!
